The role

3 year tenure with an ongoing teaching position. The current responsibility allowance for this position is 12 periods per cycle and approx. $9,200 per annum. Closing Date: 7 October 2025.

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Middle School Student Coordinator to join our Middle School leadership team. This position plays a vital role in leading and managing student wellbeing within the year level, ensuring every student is supported to flourish academically, socially, and personally.

About the Role

Reporting to the Head of Middle School, the Student Coordinator is a key member of the Middle School Executive and is responsible for:

- Leading and overseeing student wellbeing programs within the year level.

- Monitoring student progress and wellbeing, and working closely with mentors, parents, and College leadership to provide support and guidance.

- Coordinating student orientation, transition, and support programs.

- Leading Mentor Group teachers in the delivery of wellbeing initiatives and parent communication.

- Supporting and managing student behaviour in line with College expectations and values.

- Playing an active role in Middle School events, assemblies, and programs such as Marshmead.

About You

You are an experienced educator with a strong commitment to student wellbeing and adolescent development. You bring:

- Relevant teaching qualifications.

- Proven experience in student leadership, wellbeing, or pastoral care roles.

- Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills with students, staff, and parents.

- The ability to lead and inspire colleagues in delivering student wellbeing initiatives.

- A collaborative approach, with the ability to balance empathy and high expectations.

- Alignment with MLC’s values and commitment to child safety.
