We’re looking for an experienced Financial Accountant to join our team in Devonport and play a key role in the financial operations of our business.

Reporting to the Finance Director, the Financial Accountant will be responsible for ensuring sound financial governance, accurate reporting, and smooth day-to-day operation of accounting processes. This role is central to financial planning and budgeting, providing insights and support to help guide the company’s growth and sustainability.

Key responsibilities include:

- Preparing end-of-month management accounts, financial analysis, and reporting to leadership.
- Managing cash flow forecasting, overseas supplier payments, and foreign currency transactions.
- Overseeing Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, including debt collection and credit control.
- Managing tax compliance including BAS, GST, PAYG, payroll tax, FBT, and company tax obligations.
- Maintaining Fixed Asset and Financing Registers and reconciling balance sheet accounts.
- Overseeing insurance renewals, claims, and coverage adequacy.
- Reviewing contract terms and ensuring compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
- Providing financial insights to support strategic planning and business proposals.
- Supervising and mentoring your finance team.

We’re seeking someone with:

- 5+ years’ finance management experience, ideally in an import/wholesale trading environment.
- A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline (CPA/CA highly regarded).
- Proficiency in accounting systems and reporting tools (e.g., PowerBI).
- Strong knowledge of Australian tax laws and financial compliance requirements.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with stakeholders across the business.
- Experience leading or supervising staff.
