Overview

Join Melbourne Airport’s Treasury team and play a key role in funding execution, financial risk management, and investor relations during a major growth phase. Reporting to the Deputy Treasurer, the Treasury Manager will support the execution of Melbourne Airport’s financing strategy across multiple markets, including debt capital markets, interest rate risk management, and bank and legal counsel engagement. You will lead financial analysis, forecasting, and modelling, providing robust insights to support decision-making and ensure Treasury operations and cashflow management meet the organisation’s capital and liquidity needs. This role balances strategic influence with hands-on delivery, ensuring governance and compliance across debt programs and Treasury policies, supporting hedge execution, and serving as a key point of contact for banks, legal advisors, and internal stakeholders. You will also contribute to investor relations, ratings agency engagement, and Treasury system oversight, while supporting continuous improvement across Treasury.

Key responsibilities

The role/'s duties and accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

Debt Management

- Lead updates across debt programs and ensure offer circulars (EMTN, USPP, AMTN, and others) are market-ready and compliant.
- Support legal documentation, hedging execution, bond pricing, and establishment of a 144A program.
- Provide analytical support for Committee and Board papers and assist with execution of bond issuance and bank facility financing.

Financial Risk Management

- Monitor domestic and international markets, identifying key financial risks (interest rate, FX, debt).
- Support execution of hedging strategies and coordination of hedge documentation with banks.
- Apply technical analysis to portfolio exposures and support policy compliance.

Financial Analysis & Modelling

- Lead financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and modelling for Treasury, utilising the Treasury and Long-Term Corporate Models.
- Prepare Board materials and ensure outputs align with capital structure, finance documents, and credit rating metrics.
- Identify opportunities to enhance Treasury modelling to support funding, hedging, and liquidity strategies.

Hedge Accounting

- Oversee hedge accounting activities, liaising with outsourced providers and external auditors to ensure compliance and accurate reporting.

Investor Relations

- Prepare investor update presentations, roadshow materials, and rating agency and insurance materials.
- Maintain debt investor website content and ensure compliance with debt programs.

Treasury Operations & Cash Management

- Manage Treasury systems, settlements, debt rollovers, and engagement with banks.
- Ensure cash returns are maximised within Treasury policy and counterparty exposures are managed prudently.
- Collaborate with financial control and business units to align cashflow forecasts with funding requirements.

Credit Rating Management

- Develop materials for Rating Agency meetings, validate ratings calculations, and apply credit rating methodologies to Treasury and long-term models.

Leadership

- Set individual goals aligned with APAC’s corporate scorecard and CFO KPIs, contributing to a high-performing Treasury team.

The successful candidate will have:

- Degree in Finance, Commerce, or Accounting; post-graduate qualifications advantageous.
- 7+ years’ experience in Corporate Treasury, Debt Advisory, or banking roles focused on debt arrangement.
- CA/CPA/CFA qualified, with strong knowledge of hedge accounting and membership of ACTA (FTA) highly regarded.
- Expertise in debt capital markets, interest rate risk management, derivatives, liquidity, and cash management.
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills with strong analytical, modelling, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with ability to influence stakeholders at multiple levels.
- Experience working in fast-paced, multi-project environments with high attention to detail.
