About the role
Lead, motivate, and mentor a team of Interim Care Residential Workers in providing trauma-informed care and support to 3 children aged 13-16 years in our residential care home in Cranebrook.
You will support the children and young people to develop independent living skills, engage in education, and stay positively connected to their Care Workers, families, and community.
This full-time position is offered on a maximum term contract through to August 2026.
- Manage the home in accordance with the CARE model, legislation, relevant standards, policies, procedures, and funding requirements.
- Provide direct care and support to children and young people in a residential setting.
- Be actively present in the home, role modeling positive behaviors for staff.
- Oversee and participate in therapeutic care planning and implementation.
- Support staff in applying the Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) system.
- Create and maintain rosters and staff availability patterns within budget, supporting work/life balance.
Skills & Experience
- A Diploma of Community Services, Youth Work, or related qualification (relevant experience may suffice for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander applicants).
- Leadership experience in services supporting children and young people, preferably in residential care.
- Experience working with trauma-affected and disadvantaged youth.
- Willingness to complete TCI training and be assessed as TCI competent during probation.
- Current Provide First Aid (HLTAID011) certificate.
- Valid Driver's Licence.
Successful candidates will need to pass probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check, Working with Children Check, and NSW Residential Care Workers Register Check.
