As the General Manager of Country Road Home reporting to the MD of Country Road, you will set the strategic direction and deliver on the company’s market growth plan. You will own and champion the design vision for the Country Road Home product range, ensuring it remains true to our brand heritage, resonates with customers, and reflects Country Road’s iconic aesthetic.
This role blends creative leadership with commercial impact. You will collaborate with Visual Merchandising, Retail, Real Estate, and Store Development to shape and expand our stand-alone store concept and deliver elevated customer experiences that support brand and business growth. You will be part of the Country Road leadership team, fostering a safe, inclusive, high-performing environment.
Key Accountabilities
- Lead the end-to-end strategy for Country Road Home with full P&L responsibility, setting the long-term vision and executing plans to grow market share, profitability, and brand presence.
- Oversee development of customer-focused, brand-aligned product ranges. Manage merchandise strategy across pricing, margin, and range architecture while upholding Country Road’s design aesthetic.
- Inspire and guide the Design team to deliver seasonal concepts, colour directions, and innovative product ideas; translate global trends into commercially successful collections.
- Partner with Visual Merchandising, Retail, Store Development, and Real Estate to evolve and expand the stand-alone CR Home store concept and deliver a cohesive customer experience across channels.
- Collaborate with Planning, Production, Marketing, and Insights to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products supported by compelling brand storytelling.
- Champion brand awareness and customer engagement through strategic marketing, product collaborations, and innovations that position Country Road Home as a market leader in premium lifestyle retail.
- Review trade performance and customer insights to inform future strategy. Participate in weekly trade meetings to identify risks and opportunities.
- Lead, coach, and mentor a high-performing team with clear KPIs and development plans, fostering a collaborative and inclusive culture aligned with Country Road values.
- Ensure sourcing, development, and supply chain processes support sustainability goals and comply with ethical and quality standards.
- Contribute to the broader Country Road Leadership Team and cross-functional initiatives across the brand.
Key Capabilities
- Proven experience in senior leadership with ability to lead and motivate large teams
- Extensive background in design leadership within the homewares category
- Strong expertise in homeware product design and development across hardgoods and textiles
- Demonstrated success in building and executing end-to-end homeware ranges
- Experience sourcing from overseas vendors, particularly in China and India
- Deep understanding of local and international markets, trends, and customer behaviour
- Strong brand-building capability and experience in nurturing brand value
- Ability to identify emerging trends and translate them into seasonal product visions
- Strategic thinker able to align long-term goals with business objectives
- Adaptable to fast-paced, evolving market conditions
- Skilled in leading through change and implementing new initiatives

We’re seeking an experienced, visionary leader to take the reins of Country Road Home—an growth-ready category within one of Australia’s most loved lifestyle brands.
