Senior Structural Designer

With a growing team and multiple projects in the pipeline, we are currently seeking Senior Structural Designers to join our team across our offices – Melbourne, Perth and Brisbane. Reporting to the Design Manager, the role is responsible for contributing to the design and development of mechanical systems and components for mining-related equipment and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

- Management, ownership and coordination of structural design projects from feasibility level through to detailed design.
- Detailed design of structural plant elements
- Collaborate with other engineering disciplines (e.g. civil, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation) to ensure coordination and integration of structural elements with overall plant design
- Prepare design drawings with sufficient detail for fabrication where required .

About you

The ideal candidate will be a collaborative team player with a passion for discovery and a commitment to workplace wellbeing and safety. As part of a small, tight-knit team, strong relationship building, and communication skills will be critical in this role.

Skills and experience

- Tertiary qualification in structural design, with 6+ years of Multidisciplinary design experience in the mining and resources sector.
- Relevant experience in mining, minerals processing, and/or bulk materials handling industries.
- Experience across a range of commodities, including gold, copper, lithium and iron ore, is favourable.
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulations governing structural design in the Australian mining sector.
- Familiarity with engineering design software packages such as Bentley MicroStation and Prosteel desirable.
- Good presentation and communication skills at all levels.
- Demonstrated understanding of industry safety and environmental standards.
