The Opportunity

Medibank is on a mission to create better health for all Australians, and we’re looking for a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to help us deliver innovative digital solutions that make a real impact.

As part of our Digital Platforms & Engineering team, you’ll play a key role in designing and building scalable, secure, and maintainable technology solutions. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams and external partners to deliver high-quality outcomes on time and within budget. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate engineering leader who thrives in a collaborative, agile environment and is committed to continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

- Deliver high-quality development outcomes that are fit-for-purpose and supportable.

- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure timely and budget-conscious delivery.

- Design technical solutions and support testing activities across system, integration, and user acceptance phases.

- Maintain application documentation and follow change control procedures.

- Stay current with system security practices and industry trends.

- Contribute to post-implementation reviews and ensure alignment with customer experience goals.

- Drive continuous improvement across team practices and participate in Communities of Practice.

- Recommend enhancements to operational efficiency and standards.

- Act as a change agent to improve value, productivity, and delivery outcomes.

Must Haves

- Extensive experience mentoring in software design and implementation.

- Strong proficiency in ReactJS, RESTful APIs, and microservices patterns.

- Familiarity with GIT, Jira, Confluence, and Github Actions or equivalents.

- 8+ years of relevant industry experience.

- Agile experience using Scrum or Kanban methodologies.

- Solid understanding of test-driven development, CI/CD, and building high-quality solutions.

- Experience with Micro-Frontends, Mono-repos, NextJS, AWS Cloud Services, and Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) will be highly advantageous.

- Execution-focused with commercial and customer acumen.

- Adaptable and human-centred approach.
