Position Summary – Childcare Centre Cook

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Cook to join our Childcare Centre team, responsible for delivering high-quality, nutritious meals that meet the diverse dietary needs of children in care. The role requires compliance with food safety regulations and a strong understanding of children’s health and nutrition standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan, prepare, and serve nutritious, inclusive meals in accordance with food safety legislation and childcare nutritional guidelines.
- Maintain a hygienic and safe kitchen environment, adhering to relevant food safety and hygiene practices.
- Cater to individual dietary requirements, including allergies, intolerances, and cultural preferences.
- Collaborate with childcare staff to support the health and wellbeing of children.
- Ensure compliance with all Work Health & Safety (WHS) standards and procedures.
- Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
- Current National Police Clearance (no adverse findings)
- DHS Working With Children Clearance
- Physically fit to perform the role’s requirements

Desirable Qualifications & Experience

- Certificate II/III in Food Services or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of National Quality Standards and Food Safety legislation
- Experience preparing child-friendly menus in a care or institutional setting
- First Aid and Mandated Notification Training
