City Of Cockburn, Australia SEEK Volunteer Full time

Overview

Assisting the elderly look after their pets for the health and happiness of both the owner and pet, e.g. dog walking, animal feeding, transport to/from vet appointments.

Responsibilities

- Dog walking – Help provide regular exercise for dogs when owners are unable to walk them, with flexible times arranged to be mutually convenient.
- Animal feeding – Care for animals at the owners’ homes (often backyards or verandahs) during short hospital stays, ensuring peace of mind for the owner.
- Transport – Assist with transporting animals to and from local veterinary appointments, keeping clients using their local veterinary service where possible.

Qualifications

- Animal lovers who are or have been pet owners; many volunteers have experience in human health, animal rescue, or related fields.
- Ability to commit as much time as is comfortable, with flexibility around each volunteer’s schedule.

Anyone can apply to become a POOPS volunteer. Typically our volunteers are animal lovers who are/have been pet owners and many are working in or have worked in the human health or animal rescue services.
