What You’ll Do
- Lead and oversee safety team across a large-scale construction site (1,000+ headcount / $1bn value), ensuring effective implementation of health and safety management systems.
- Conduct audits, inspections, and incident investigations to drive continuous improvement in safety performance.
- Implement governance frameworks to ensure accountability, consistency, and compliance across the site.
- Collaborate with project management teams to integrate safety into all phases of planning and construction.
- Analyse assurance data to identify trends, produce reports, and recommend improvements.
- Provide training, mentoring, and coaching to enhance safety awareness and performance.
- Build strong relationships with clients, trade partners, and internal stakeholders to foster a proactive safety culture.
Who You Are
- Experience:5–8 years in a health and safety leadership role within large-scale ($500M+) construction projects.
- Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Skills:Strong knowledge of construction safety legislation, standards, and best practices.
- Leadership:Proven ability to drive cultural change and influence decision-makers at all levels.
- Problem‑Solving:Analytical mindset to address complex health and safety issues with innovative solutions.
- Collaboration:Cooperative approach with internal and external stakeholders.
- Highly motivated: ‘Can‑do’ attitude.
