Emergency Medicine SMRO's work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to apply medical knowledge and experience in the diagnosis, investigation and treatment of patients who present to the emergency department. SRMOs can be responsible for patient in care in all areas of the ED – Resuscitation Bays, Fast Track, Acute, Behavioural Assessment, Paediatrics and the Emergency Medicine Unit.
Participation in extra-curricular activities, such as completion of the Emergency Medicine Diploma or completion of an audit, are encouraged and supported. Essential Criteria
- Be registered or eligible for General registration as a medical practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner's Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Demonstrated clinical competence at post graduate year 3 level.
- Demonstrated ability to pursue both formal and self-directed learning in clinical practice and evidence of developing ability to teach more junior doctors and medical students.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to liaise effectively with other health professionals.
