Job Summary
The DevOps Engineer will bridge the gap between development and operations teams by designing, building, and maintaining automated tools and infrastructure. This role is crucial for ensuring the continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD) of high-quality software to production environments quickly and reliably.

Core Responsibilities and Duties
1. Automation and CI/CD Pipeline Management

Design, implement, and maintain the Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions) to automate building, testing, and deployment of applications.

Write scripts (e.g., Python, Bash) to automate repetitive tasks, system setup, and configuration management.

Oversee version control systems (e.g., Git/GitHub) and manage code branching and merging strategies.

2. Infrastructure and Cloud Management (IaC)

Implement and manage cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or AWS CloudFormation to ensure consistent, repeatable, and scalable environments.

Manage and provision cloud resources across platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).

Implement and monitor containerization technologies (e.g., Docker) and container orchestration platforms (e.g., Kubernetes) for deploying and scaling applications.

3. System Monitoring, Optimization, and Reliability

Implement and maintain monitoring, logging, and observability stacks (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk) to track application performance, system health, and key business metrics (KPIs).

Perform root cause analysis (RCA) on production errors and incidents, providing Level 2 technical support and implementing fixes to prevent recurrence.

Tune and scale systems (e.g., Linux OS) for optimal performance and efficiency, including setting up auto-scaling groups.

4. Security and Collaboration (DevSecOps)

Integrate security best practices and automated testing (DevSecOps) into the CI/CD pipeline, including vulnerability assessments and patching.

Foster a culture of collaboration, shared responsibility, and communication between development, QA, and operations teams.

Provide guidance and mentorship to development teams on proper DevOps methodologies and tooling.

Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience: Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer, Platform Engineer, or similar role.

Programming/Scripting: Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Ruby.

CI/CD Tools: Strong hands-on experience with tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.

Cloud Platforms: Experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).

IaC: Expert knowledge of Infrastructure as Code using tools like Terraform or Ansible.

Containers & Orchestration: Proficiency with Docker and Kubernetes.

Version Control: Mastery of Git and GitHub/GitLab workflows.

Soft Skills: Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills.
