OneSchool Global - Bairnsdale Campus VIC AUS, Lucknow, Victoria, Australia Posted Sunday 31 August 2025 at 4:00 pm Based at our welcoming Bairnsdale Campus, we have an opportunity for a Specialist Learning Support Teacher to join our team. This is a full time, permanent position to start at the beginning of Term 4 2025. This role will see you supporting a Year 3 Student who is joining the campus in 2026, you will be required to have knowledge and proven experience supporting students with neurodiversity needs. About You: Candidates will need to be a VIT Registered teacher, have a strong understanding of the Australian Curriculum and Syllabus and be willing to embrace modern teaching methods and technologies. - Expertise in neurodiversity: Demonstrated experience in supporting students with Down Syndrome and broader neurodiverse needs. - Individualised education planning: Proven ability to develop and implement personalised learning programs, with strong skills in differentiation and adjustment documentation (aligned to NCCD). - Collaboration: Capacity to work closely with classroom teachers, families, allied health professionals, and support staff to create a consistent approach. - Behaviour and engagement strategies: Familiarity with trauma-informed practice, PBS (Positive Behaviour Support), and approaches like “Kids Do Well If They Can” (Ross Greene). - Communication supports: Understanding of AAC, visuals, and strategies for supporting expressive/receptive language. - Leadership within support: Ability to mentor, coordinate, and upskill colleagues in inclusive practice. - Personal care and dignity: Ability to provide respectful support with toileting and hygiene needs, following student care plans, maintaining confidentiality, and upholding the student’s dignity at all times.
