Looking for a sea change – living and working within an historic village or working close to western Australia’s beautiful coastline watching the dolphins or breathing in fresh country air. Consider being a caretaker for Fairbridge.

About Fairbridge WA
Fairbridge a major youth charity and has six sites around Western Australia all requiring caretakers. The sites are – Point Peron, Pinjarra, Pemberton, Kalgoorlie, Geraldton, and Dampier. Each site has its own unique features where we run adventure outdoor education programs to students and community groups. We are currently looking for a caretaker at Pinjarra.

Your Role
Ideally, we are looking for a couple or a family who are active, friendly and can be the face of Fairbridge to the guests staying at the site. All sites are unique but share the same elevated level of customer service expectation.

Key Responsibilities

- Occasionally provide an out of hours welcome and site inductions to groups
- Point of contact to answer day visitor queries
- Simple Maintenance (depending on the skill set of the caretakers)
- Point of contact for out of hours maintenance contractors
- Looking after the site’s facilities
- Work as part of a team with other caretakers, the Grounds and Maintenance Coordinator and maintenance team
- After hours deliveries
- To be onsite during weekends, outside normal office hours all year round, this includes Christmas and other school holiday periods
- Fire warden
- Out of hours point of conduct when security alarms are triggered
- Drive the school bus when situations necessitate

Criteria

- National Police Clearance
- Working with Children’s Check in accordance with this policy
- LR Drivers licence (manual Drivers’ License)
- Current First Aid certificate
- Willingness to upskill
