About the Opportunity

Cabonne Council has a permanent, full-time opportunity foran experienced, collaborative and energetic Senior Town Planner.

The purpose of this position it to provide planning and development advice and services within legislative requirements and best practice to achieve a sustainable future for Cabonne. To deliver efficient and timely determination of Development Applications and Subdivision Certificates. As well as providing Strategic Town Planning Delivery

About You

This role is for a skilled professional with strong legislative knowledge, excellent communication and negotiation skills and a proven ability to resolve complex planning issues.

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

- Bachelor of Urban and Regional Planning, or related field.
- Class C driver’s licence.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience performing a similar role as a Town Planner.
- Extensive practical experience in development assessment under the Environmental Planningand Assessment Act including assessment of complex development matters.
- Sound practical understanding of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act, and otherrelevant legislation and regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with management and staff at all levels ofthe organisation and with external contacts.
- Excellent negotiation and presentation skills.
- Superior ability to resolve complex planning issues with applicants for development andexcellent customer service skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines with possession of excellent time management skills.
- Demonstrated understanding and commitments to WHS and EEO principles across all activitieswithin the organisation.

Remuneration and Benefits

The appointment will be in accordance with the LocalGovernment (State) Award 2023 and Cabonne Council’s policies and conditionsof employment.

The position is graded 12 in Council's salary system with a gross weekly wage range of $2013.90 to $2168.70 dependant on qualifications and experience.

The role offers the option of a Leaseback vehicle.
