About The Role
Merri-bek Libraries is a responsive and agile library service, providing services to our diverse community. Following a successful pilot program, we are seeking a Social Worker to join our team.
The Library Social Worker will:
- Engage with community members in need and assist them to access appropriate services.
- Develop relationships with relevant organisations and understand referral pathways.
- Partner with community organisations to build a team of community support workers.
We are seeking an experienced Social Worker who can meet people where they are at. If you have a person-centred approach and a genuine desire to make a difference to the lives of the people of Merri-bek, we would like to hear from you.
Skills and Experience
- Demonstrated ability to build and lead a team
- Tertiary qualification in Social Work
- Significant experience in client services including issues such as homelessness, addiction, mental wellbeing
- In-depth knowledge of trauma informed care and a person-centred approach
- Excellent written and verbal communication
