Salary Range: $132,236 - $150,222 per annum + 12% super and benefits (Health Manager 3)
Location: Within New South Wales and location by agreement.

About the Opportunity

As the Manager, Radio and Telecommunications, you will oversee the operation, maintenance, and support of NSW Ambulance’s private digital and analogue mobile radio (PMR) networks, satellite communications, and supporting ICT infrastructure. You will lead a state-wide team responsible for ensuring reliable communications from metropolitan hubs to regional and remote locations. This role is also pivotal during major incidents and natural disasters, ensuring our communications systems remain operational during bushfires, floods, and other emergencies.

What You’ll Be Doing

- Lead the 24/7 management and technical support of NSW Ambulance’s PMR networks and connectivity to the Public Safety Network (PSN).

- Oversee installation and support of ICT infrastructure including data cabling, UPS systems, racks, and Wireless Access Points (WAPs).

- Manage telecommunications assets across the state, including mobile/portable radios, satellite phones, and infrastructure at stations and control centres.

- Plan and design telecommunications solutions, radio profiles, and network upgrades to support service delivery.

- Investigate new technologies and provide expert advice on procurement, system improvements, and budget planning.

- Lead a team of skilled telecommunications professionals and coordinate with NSW Telco Authority and eHealth NSW.

- Represent NSW Ambulance on technical committees and ensure high-level stakeholder engagement across the organisation.

About You

We’re looking for an experienced telecommunications leader with:

- Proven success in managing complex telecommunications systems and infrastructure across a large‑scale or emergency services environment.

- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage teams and work collaboratively with senior stakeholders.

- Demonstrated understanding of government regulations, emergency services operations, and relevant NSW Health policies.

- Strategic thinking and policy development experience, including business continuity planning.
