Critical Environment Instrumentation Engineer

Responsibilities
- Maintaining ICS availability, data quality, service and change management, reporting, and the security of all ICS systems in the Data Centers.
- Site level ICS program and project management, governing and participating in global initiatives related to ICS systems.
- Managing, servicing, and governing Microsoft’s electrical and mechanical industrial control systems (ICS) within mission-critical datacenters.
- Governing logical and physical access, approval, and permissions for all ICS systems, networks, workstations, and servers involved in datacenter monitoring and controls.
- Promoting a culture of safety and security in global datacenter operations by complying with safety programs and completing compliance assessments.
- Developing positive relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 3+ years of technical experience in software engineering, network engineering, service engineering, or systems engineering, or equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or applicable field experience in Critical Environments, Electrical, Industrial, or Mechanical.
- 3+ years of experience in operational, mission-critical, 24x7x365 facilities.
- 1.5+ years of experience in designing or commissioning Industrial Controls Systems (ICS) in datacenter environments, including Modbus and BACnet protocols.
- 2+ years of experience with electrical and mechanical systems operation and maintenance.
- Project management experience with agile methodologies.
- Ability to interpret blueprints, construction drawings, and documents.
- Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and adapt to changing priorities.
- Strong reporting skills for success metrics.
- Understanding of Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS), Building Automation Systems (BAS), and Battery Monitoring Systems (BMS).
