Exciting opportunity for a Clinical Nurse Consultant to join the Department of Health

The Team:

The Tasmanian Eating Disorder Service (TEDS) delivers integrated specialist care for adults with an eating disorder, including Community-Based Intensive Treatment (CBIT) Programs and a statewide Residential Recovery Program (RRP).

The CNC is part of the TEDS South Community Based Intensive Treatment program based in Hobart.

The Role:

The Clinical Nurse Consultant will provide high level support within the team and will:

1. Provide comprehensive specialist evidence-based service including assessment, care planning, treatment and management with a recovery focused, trauma informed and relational practice framework for consumers and their family and carers.
2. Provide specialist secondary consultation and liaison services across a range of clinical settings, developing strong collaborative care partnerships with key stakeholders.
3. Contribute to the development, implementation, delivery and evaluation of a range of individual and group programs and activities for people with eating disorders.

You will need:

1. Demonstrated comprehensive experience with knowledge of contemporary evidence-based approaches to physical and mental health management, with an interest in eating disorders.
2. Proven high level interpersonal skills including oral and written communication, negotiation, conflict resolution and decision making, together with the ability to develop comprehensive oral and written reports.
3. Proven capacity to develop and maintain partnerships with a broad range of key local stakeholders.

Details of appointment:

Fixed term, part time, day worker position, working 30.4 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible for a period of approximately twelve (12) months. Notwithstanding, hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $114,851 to $121,886 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2023.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

1. Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type.

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

1. Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse and possess specialist tertiary graduate or post graduate mental health/psychiatric nursing qualification; or completed, prior to the transfer of nurse education to the tertiary sector, an accredited hospital based program that led to registration as a psychiatric nurse by the relevant nurse regulatory authority within Australia, New Zealand, Canada or the United Kingdom.
