MA Electrician

This position is responsible for providing an efficient and effective repair and maintenance service for electrical facilities and equipment. The work involves urgent breakdown repairs, preventative maintenance, and project/improvement work.

Core Responsibilities

- Respond to breakdowns and service calls.
- Electrical installation and repairs & maintenance.
- Liaise with management and supervisors to co-ordinate work tasks.
- Monitor, follow-up and address issues associated with the implementation and process of planned and unplanned maintenance tasks.
- Ensure maximum equipment uptime is achieved by completing effective and efficient Electrical preventative maintenance when production is not running.
- Maintain tools and equipment in a safe and proper working condition.
- Perform ad-hoc projects as specified by the Maintenance Supervisor.
- Adhere to all Company policies, procedures, processes, and work instructions at all times, and ensure appropriate actions are taken to implement and monitor at a site level.
- Ensure that all electrical work meets all company safety and housekeeping requirements and conforms to all relevant regulations.
- Demonstrate problem-solving skills to identify and troubleshoot faults to rectify problems.
- Ensure the availability, reliability, and capability of the plant assets.
- Understand and implement quality control techniques.
- Be actively involved with inspections of equipment undergoing rebuild or repair.
- Perform other duties as directed.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

- Hold a current Victorian A Class electrical licence.
- Have 2+ years of experience in food manufacturing environments.
- Possess excellent fault finding and troubleshooting skills.
- Have knowledge of motor control and variable speed drives (Danfoss and Allan-Bradley).
- Have a sound understanding of PLC’s (Siemens & Allan-Bradley).
- Have workmanship of a high standard.
- Possess sound communication skills, initiative, and strong attention to detail.
- Be able to work flexible hours.
- Understand work planning and scheduling procedures.
- Have highly developed time management and multi-tasking skills.
