About the Role:

As a DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines that support our client's data platforms. Your expertise in AWS Data Services will be crucial in ensuring the performance, reliability, and security of their data infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design, implement, and maintain AWS infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like CloudFormation, AWS SAM, and CDK.
- Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and GitLab.
- Build and maintain infrastructure for public and internal RESTful APIs using AWS API Gateway, WAF, and CloudFront.
- Implement event-driven architectures using Pub/Sub and EventBridge.
- Develop and maintain data processing pipelines using AWS Glue, Lambda, and Step Functions.
- Configure and manage AWS data services including DMS, RDS (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Aurora), S3, and DynamoDB.
- Write and optimize ETL scripts using PySpark and SQL.
- Implement monitoring and logging solutions using CloudWatch, NewRelic, and Splunk.
- Ensure security and compliance through IAM policies and best practices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve performance and scalability issues.

Required Skills and Experience:

- Extensive experience with AWS services including:

- API Gateway, WAF, CloudFront

- S3, Lambda, Step Functions, DynamoDB, SQS, VPC

- Glue, DMS, RDS, Aurora

- Proven experience in building infrastructure for RESTful APIs.
- Strong understanding of event-driven architectures (Pub/Sub, EventBridge).
- Proficient in programming languages: Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, SQL.
- Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using CloudFormation, AWS SAM, and CDK.
- Experience with CI/CD tools: Jenkins, GitLab.
- Deep knowledge of AWS Data Services, particularly:

- AWS DMS: Configuring migration tasks, understanding replication methods, troubleshooting performance bottlenecks.

- Amazon RDS: Experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Aurora, database design, optimization, and scaling.

- AWS Glue: Writing and optimizing ETL scripts using PySpark, managing Glue Crawlers and Data Catalog.

- AWS S3: Best practices for large-scale data storage, lifecycle policies, versioning, and data encryption.

- AWS Lambda: Developing event-driven data processing functions, error handling, and monitoring.

- Strong understanding of data engineering and ETL pipeline design.
- Experience with Big Data processing using Apache Spark and Athena.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
