About Us :

Fitout Glass + Aluminium are an installer of glazing systems and glass to the commercial construction industry in South East Queensland. Fitout Glass + Aluminium’s services include the installation of glass to external facades, shopfronts, internal office partitions, fabrication of aluminium framing and doors, installation of specialist hardware and door systems, frameless glass systems and balustrading in commercial applications.

About You :

- Resident of QLD or surrounding area
- Ability to work safely
- Physically fit
- White Card OH&S Construction
- Must have own reliable transport and manual driver’s license.
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Willingness to learn & have a keen interest in construction/glazing
- Familiarity with power tools and machinery is a plus but not necessary
- Must be punctual, reliable & hard working
- Ability to work in a team & take direction from a team leader

Position Summary :

Fitout Glass + Aluminium are seeking Glazing Apprentices - 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th years welcome We want to build the next generation and invest in your career

Once qualified, glaziers fit pre-assembled windows, hang doors and fit hardware, crane curtain wall panels and fit them into the side of buildings, and load glass into offices and glaze internal walls. The work is varied and the satisfaction in creating something to be proud of is never ending. Ultimately, a top-notch glazier provides a positive customer experience while constantly meeting high professional standards.

- Ability to work well with your hands.
- Ability to lift heavy objects.
- Team player and effective communication skills to be able to assist other workers as required
- Professional appearance.

Job Responsibility :

- Assisting in helping team mates with general duties on site
- Operating smaller plant (as tickets achieved)
- Labouring
- Read and interpret plans and specifications, this includes the types of glass required, measuring, marking and cutting or drilling the glass.
- Installing glass
- Correct disposal of glass
- Quality Assurance – ensuring all products are inspected for defects or weakness.
- Ensure that appropriate PPE is worn at all times
- Keep the working area free from unnecessary hazards and make sure that company safety procedures are followed at all times
- Continuously learn new techniques and safe practices
