The project will include epidemiological modelling components (using ordinary differential equations models to project epidemic outcomes) and economic modelling components (costing, health economic and resource optimisation analyses). The student will be embedded within a multi-disciplinary team, and outputs will be provided to governments, policy makers, and international health agencies to influence decision-making around the world.

You will also:

- Develop and calibrate models of hepatitis C transmission, disease progression, and care cascade progression to different settings and population groups, using appropriate epidemiological, statistical, and mathematical techniques.
- Undertake costing studies and health economic evaluation of interventions.
- Communicate with epidemiologists, public health experts, social scientists, and stakeholders about the approach and implications of modelling projects.
- Write academic publications and policy briefs and produce PowerPoint presentations.
- Undertake research projects with a high degree of autonomy.

This is a full-time candidature for a 3-year period and includes a stipend of $36,063 per year. While our head office is based in Melbourne, this PhD has an option to be conducted fully remotely from anywhere in Australia.
