Overview

Liverpool City Council is seeking an apprentice to join the Parks and Open Space Services team. This full‑time apprenticeship provides practical skill development in the maintenance and care of council parks, open space gardens and public trees. The role is suitable for new starters and current apprentices in 1st or 2nd year of the same qualification.

Temporary Full-Time position, 36 hours per week, 4 days per week, duration up to 3 to 4 years. Salary range: $31,408 – $49,469 per annum plus 12% super. Location: Depot.

Job Description

This apprenticeship is a full-time position within the Parks and Open Space Services team. The successful candidate will work towards the completion of their Certificate III in Parks and Gardens. This role provides experience in the maintenance and care of council parks, open space gardens and public trees.

This role involves:

- Sports field maintenance

- Parks and garden maintenance

- Carrying out works in accordance with the Work Health and Safety Act and Parks Procedures

- Complying with responsibilities relating to the Training Contract as an Apprentice (training attendance and attainment of competencies)

- Completing a qualification in Certificate III in Sports Turf Management while working full-time
