SJG Bunbury is currently seeking a Clinical Nurse with specialist breast care skills and training for the role of McGrath **Cancer Care Nurse (Breast).**Funded by the McGrath Foundation, the purpose of the role is to allow women diagnosed with breast cancer to access nurses with specialist breast care skills and training.The McGrath Cancer Care Nurse (Breast) will apply advanced knowledge of the health needs, preferences and circumstances of women with breast cancer to optimise the individual's health and wellbeing at various phases across the continuum of care, including diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation, follow-up and palliative care.Advanced knowledge and skills in supportive care, including providing specialised and tailored information and education, psychological support, and clinical care will be utilised, adapting practice according to the specific and changing needs of individual women, taking into account the patient’s multiple health needs, concerns and preferences for care.This is a permanent part-time role, working 60.8 hours per fortnight.**The Position:*** Provide specialised breast care, information, education and support to clients relating to breast cancer in accordance with evidence based clinical practice guidelines.* Collaborate with members of the multidisciplinary treatment team and relevant community service providers to coordinate the delivery of client-oriented, specialised support services across the care continuum, to clients and their families.* Provide expert clinical advice and clinical leadership on evidence-based breast care services to nursing staff, allied health and other members of the multidisciplinary team or to health care providers a woman with breast cancer may come into contact with.* Communicate appropriate information to senior staff regarding patient and service issues and ensure documentation reflects appropriate standards and meet legal requirements.* Ensure relationships with all customers are conducive to a harmonious working environment, and work to resolve conflicts as they arise.* Respond appropriately to customer feedback and complaints, seeking assistance to resolve issues as required.* Accept all patient and carer feedback and provide recommendations for improvements/solutions where needed* Contribute to planning, problem solving and management of change in the service to improve the quality of services provided and actively support the service quality plan and reporting, initiating and following through on quality projects* Contribute to the achievement of Service and Divisional operational objectives.* Actively participate in ongoing learning to continually improve skills and knowledge in area of practice.You will hold current registration with Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as Registered Nurse with a minimum of 5 years’ post registration experience in either surgical or medical oncology.
