A core requirement is reasonable, and hands-on expertise in Building Management Systems (BMS) and PLC-based control systems, including suitable knowledge of relevant communication protocols are desirable.The Building Automation/Electrical Tradesperson will lead the full lifecycle of designated small projects, including scope definition, budget tracking, contractor supervision, safety planning, and final commissioning/ documentation.This role requires relevant cross-functional knowledge of mechanical infrastructure (e.g., HVAC systems), proficiency in interpreting complex electrical and control schematics, and full electrical regulatory compliance and necessary diagnostics.**Selection Criteria**Knowledge and Skills:* Licensed Electrician (Victoria) is essential.* Knowledge of building electrical systems from control switchgear through to light globes and GPOs.* Electronics Experience – experience within healthcare/research disciplines well regarded. Work with microprocessor-based equipment and understanding of calibration requirements.* Familiarity with DDC controls infrastructure and ability to solve problem e.g. component and hardware faults.* Familiarity with building management system (BMS)/ programmable logic controller (PLC), BACnet/ PPLC program codes and/or equivalent.* Suitable knowledge of HVAC systems to facilitate BMS functions and the ability to investigate, and resolve performance issues, autonomously or with third parties.* White card and EWP accreditation.* Experience or further qualifications in associated disciplines of facilities management including refrigeration, air-conditioning or hydraulics* Working with Children CheckPersonal Qualities:* Proactivity and diligence in driving operational and infrastructural improvements* Strong communication skills**Terms of Appointment** This position is an **ongoing role** in a **full time** capacity.
