Plant Mechanic

Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, the Plant Mechanic will join our Geraldton Branch on a Full Time Basis. This role involves supporting all Caterpillar products within the Midwest area through the Geraldton workshop.

The Geraldton branch provides top-tier machinery solutions and support that cater to the evolving needs of the mining industry. Our expert team is focused on delivering innovative, reliable, and efficient Caterpillar equipment to maximize productivity and ensure operational safety.

Roster options: Residential in Geraldton - multiple roster options available.

What You’ll Do:

- Perform scheduled maintenance, repairs, and component replacements on Caterpillar machinery.

- Use diagnostic tools and software to identify faults, troubleshoot issues, and implement effective solutions.

- Strictly adhere to WesTrac’s safety protocols, including PPE usage and hazard reporting.

Skills & Experience:

- Australian recognised Heavy Mobile Plant Trade Certificate.

- Proven expertise in fault‑finding and diagnostics using Caterpillar‑specific tools and systems.

- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure in an efficient manner.

- Previous experience working on Caterpillar products.

- Strive to assist the Customer to achieve machine availability and reliability KPI’s.
