Risk Consultant - Supply Chain

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Risk Consultant specializing in Supply Chain and Supplier Risk for a 3-6 month engagement. This role is critical in strengthening a major client's risk management framework by focusing on third-party supply chain governance.

This position offers location agnostic flexibility, allowing you to work remotely from anywhere in Australia.

Key Responsibilities

- Supplier Risk Management: Conduct thorough supplier risk assessments (including third-party assurance) and provide actionable mitigation strategies.

- Policy & Compliance: Develop, review, and uplift internal policies and procedures to align with legal, regulatory, and contractual obligations impacting the supply chain.

- Procurement Support: Act as the risk subject matter expert (SME) within the procurement lifecycle (RFI/RFP), ensuring all new vendors meet stringent risk and compliance requirements.

- Legal/Regulatory Alignment: Interpret and apply relevant legislation and compliance frameworks to supplier contracts and service agreements.

- Documentation & Governance: Document supply chain risk profiles, control environments, and contribute to executive-level reporting on supplier-related risks.

Required Skills & Experience

- Proven Experience: Significant experience (10+ years preferred) in Risk Management, Third-Party Assurance, or Supply Chain Governance.

- Domain Knowledge (Mandatory): Strong experience working within the Financial Services or highly regulated sectors.

- Specialist Expertise: Deep knowledge of supplier lifecycle management, procurement processes, and contract negotiation/management from a risk perspective.

- Legal/Policy Acumen: Ability to interpret legal requirements and translate them into clear, enforceable risk and security policies.

- Communication: Exceptional stakeholder management skills, comfortable engaging with legal, procurement, and executive teams.
