The City of Whittlesea has exciting permanent, full-time opportunities available for qualified Maternal and Child Health Nurses to join our inclusive and supportive MCH Team.

The MCH Service is a varied and dynamic service with a multidisciplinary team of MCH nurses, early childhood professionals, lactation consultants, Aboriginal MCH program, social worker, family violence practitioner and administration team, all well supported by the MCH leadership team.

A comprehensive and supportive program is available for new graduate MCH nurses with the provision of professional education days and one on one mentoring.

You will be a compassionate and dedicated Maternal and Child Health Nurse who enjoys making a positive impact through providing a flexible and responsive service to families with young children.

In this role you will:

- Provide the Victorian maternal and child health service program using a family centred partnership approach in accordance with the service program guidelines and standards.

- Facilitate group work, including new parent groups, drop-in programs, and group-based initiatives.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have the following experience:

- Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Division 1 Registered Nurse and Midwife.

- Hold Postgraduate qualifications in Child Family and Community Health - Maternal Child Health Nursing.

- Demonstrated knowledge and skills to provide and deliver the Victorian Maternal & Child Health program to the diverse range of families with young children from birth to school age.

- Demonstrated knowledge of primary health care, health promotion and principles of early intervention.

- A commitment to the provision of a quality service and continuous improvement.
