With a frontend-first focus, you will leverage your expertise in React and Next.js while also contributing to backend services built with Java/Spring Boot and cloud-native architectures. You will lead a small team of engineers and collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and cross-functional teams to deliver innovative, AI-enabled solutions that meet evolving business needs.## Key Responsibilities* Lead the design and development of secure, scalable digital solutions on AWS, aligned with platform and security standards.* Provide hands-on technical guidance, ensuring code quality, performance, and best practice adoption across frontend and backend.* Partner with Product Leads to translate business requirements into intuitive, user-focused solutions using established design and architectural patterns.* Champion frontend excellence (React, Next.js) while guiding backend development (Java 25, Springboot 3.5 ).* Own and manage the Agile delivery process – backlog, sprint planning, and ceremonies – driving timely and effective delivery.* Act as the Platform SME, mentoring team members and promoting consistent and effective use of platform features.* Drive integration of AI and agentic AI capabilities into engineering workflows and end-user applications.## ## Core Technical Skills (Required)* Frontend-first development: Expert in React with Next.js for building scalable, performant web applications.* Backend familiarity: Experience with Java and Spring Boot.* TypeScript: Strong experience in building scalable frontend and backend applications.* AWS: Hands-on experience with Lambda (serverless), ECS/EKS (containers), and other AWS-native services.* Temporal: Workflow orchestration and distributed system design.* Security protocols: Knowledge of OAuth and mTLS for authentication and secure communication.## ## Desirable Experience* Messaging and event-driven systems: SQS, Kafka, or equivalent.* Databases: DynamoDB, SQL, Postgres.* API management: Kong API Gateway.* Feature management: LaunchDarkly or other feature toggling tools.* Experience integrating AI/ML services and agentic AI patterns into engineering workflows.**Life at Versent**We're a diverse team of motivated humans who think outside the box and strive to deliver what others might consider impossible.At Versent we truly care about our people and put real focus on cultivating a culture of learning, collaboration and growth.
