Join the Team as a Recreation Attendant – Gawler Sport & Community Centre

Are you passionate about roller skating, love working with people, and want to make a real impact in your local community? The Town of Gawler is looking for a reliable, motivated, and hands‑on individual to join our team as a Recreation Attendant at the Gawler Sport & Community Centre.

This is a year‑round opportunity—perfect for someone looking to start or grow a career in the sport and recreation industry. You'll be part of a dynamic team environment, supporting a range of indoor programs with a strong focus on roller skating activities, community centre operations, and skating birthday parties.

We’re especially looking for someone with roller skating experience and a genuine passion for sharing the fun of skating with others. Whether you're helping beginners build confidence on skates, creating an exciting atmosphere during public sessions, or hosting fun skating birthday parties, you’ll play a key role in promoting active, healthy, and connected lifestyles.

Roller skating experience is highly desirable and will be viewed favourably in the selection process.

What You’ll Be Doing

- Delivering a high standard of customer service, helping to create a safe and enjoyable environment for all patrons.

- Ensure that equipment and facilities are clean, safe, and well‑maintained.

- Understanding and enforcing centre policies, safety procedures, and WHS requirements.

- Act as Skate Marshall for public roller skating sessions, assisting for the smooth running of the sessions including skating birthday parties.

- Prepare and serve food or beverages according to health and safety standards.

- Supporting the day‑to‑day running of programs and facility operations with energy and professionalism.
