The Commercial Finance Analyst (Off Premise) is responsible for supporting the Commercial Finance Business Partner in all aspects of business partnering across multiple departments and for the timely reporting of key information to various levels of the business, including Global HQ, internal Leadership and key budget holders. The role focuses on ensuring accuracy and data quality in planning, providing analytical decision support, and improving business partnering primarily with Sales & Operations.

Responsibilities

- Act as a sparring partner for Sales & Operations, supporting robust forecasting and business planning.
- Provide timely decision support to budget owners through analysis and modelling of commercial scenarios, challenging assumptions and understanding profitability impact.
- Understand customer value chains, including commercial trading terms (on & off invoice) for all customers and the customer P&L for specific sales channels.
- Support preparation of new product launch proposals with inputs and profitability impact understanding.
- Be the super user of CPM, the Sales & Customer profitability planning tool.
- Champion data quality by ensuring planning inputs from the Sales team are accurate, relevant and reliable.
- Maintain master pricing data and SKU portfolio changes.
- Onboard new Sales users and deliver training as required.
- Lead process improvement and establish best practices within CPM, including projects with the Global CPM Team.
- Coordinate Monthly Planning (MPU), Business Plan, and Revised Estimates, ensuring stakeholders meet internal deadlines.
- Support budget owners during planning and forecasting, challenging inputs for accurate full-year plans.
- Prepare forecasts based on MPU process and clearly articulate changes to plan.
- Highlight risks and opportunities within the forecast and track variance commentary.
- Execute key MEC tasks in CPM and SAP for the FBP sign-off.
- Understand key performance drivers by Customer, Activity or Project to complete variance analysis against plan.
- Prepare and distribute detailed monthly reports using SAP, BI, or Hyperion for Key Stakeholders and Directors.
- Present monthly impact of function results to leadership, articulating variances and full-year impact to support goal achievement.
- Provide top Customer Health Checks to the Sales team and highlight discrepancies in the customer value chain.

Qualifications

- Degree qualified in Accounting, Finance or Business.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a Commercial Finance role; experience with a Sales planning system is desirable but not essential.
- Experience in Data Analytics and Modelling.
- IT literate with excellent MS Excel; proficient in MS PowerPoint; familiarity with integrated analytical tools (SAP/BI/Hyperion, etc.) is a plus.
- Inquisitive self-starter with high attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Strong business partnering skills, able to navigate challenging commercial situations with agility and professionalism.
