Job Description:

We currently have an exciting new opportunity for an Occupational Therapist to join our multi-disciplinary Allied Health Team.

About Guide Dogs SA/NT

At Guide Dogs SA/NT, we use our expertise in dogs and vision to promote independence, participation, inclusion, and wellbeing for people with low vision, blindness, or specialized support needs.

About the Role

You will have the opportunity to improve our client's quality of life and independence using a broad range of OT skills through effective home modifications recommendations, equipment or assistive technology prescription, and/or therapeutic interventions.

  • Assessing, planning, implementing, and reviewing programs for clients in hospital, school, home, and community settings
  • Providing direct vision-related services to our clients and the community
About You

To be successful in this role, you must be a passionate Occupational Therapist committed to providing best practice care to ensure our clients' wellbeing.

  • Tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy and eligible for Occupational Therapy registration
  • Ability to design, implement, monitor, and evaluate consumer-focused vision rehabilitation programs
  • Proficient in the use of a broad range of technology and willingness to continuously upskill and learn new technology
Requirements

The following are mandatory requirements for the successful applicant:

  • South Australian Driver's Licence
  • DHS Working with Children Check
  • NDIS Workers screening
