Overview
Immerse yourself in the innovative world of fit-for-purpose apparel design. This role offers a unique opportunity to lead trend analysis and product innovation, creating high-performance, functional, and commercially viable products tailored to the specific needs of our Industrial and Emergency Service clients. You’ll bring customer design briefs to life through proactive research, thoughtful design, and technical development, crafting solutions that deliver exceptional functionality and align with brand positioning and business goals.
Responsibilities
- Lead trend analysis and product innovation by proactively researching emerging trends in fabrications, construction techniques, technology, trims, and accessories.
- Translate trend insights into commercially viable design concepts that align with WWG’s brand positioning and customer needs.
- Design and develop product lines that meet WWG requirements, ensuring functionality, performance, and market relevance.
- Conduct critical reviews of existing products and client ranges to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.
- Create detailed technical specifications to support accurate and efficient product development.
- Collaborate with in-country teams to conduct fitting appraisals, ensuring optimal fit and quality across product ranges.
- Manage and monitor adherence to critical path timelines, striving for continuous improvement in speed-to-market.
- Communicate design and development progress clearly across teams, identifying and resolving roadblocks with a solutions-focused mindset.
- Ensure product compliance through rigorous wearer trials, quality testing, and risk assessments.
- Design cost-effective products that meet FOB price targets by optimizing materials, construction methods, and design efficiencies.
- Oversee sampling and testing phases to ensure product viability and performance standards are consistently met.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years experience in a similar position
- Experience in technical apparel, menswear, and industrial workwear or similar would be highly regarded
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage own time and priorities to achieve goals
- Strong communication skills both verbally and in writing at all levels
- Strong eye for detail and accuracy
- Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team
