What will we learn?
Levels in business and management tend to be among the most popular among students. Universities have adapted to meet this demand with a variety of classes.
These degrees focus on how organizations operate, including their management styles and business strategies. Marketing degrees examine consumer behavior, marketing techniques, and economic impacts on various sectors.
There is a diverse range of courses, each with different focuses or specializations, such as trade, retail, tourism, or international business. Common themes across these degrees include finance, marketing, and human resource management.
Some courses incorporate vocational elements, such as team projects to develop a business and market a product before graduation. Others include mandatory work placements, often facilitated through strong university-business links.
Modern organizations also emphasize ethical and environmental considerations, which are increasingly reflected in course modules.
What skills will I gain?
Beyond understanding business operations, you will develop skills in finance, management, teamwork, and strategic planning. You'll be prepared to present ideas confidently and negotiate effectively.
Teamwork is a key component, helping you build leadership skills and entrepreneurial thinking. You'll also learn about ethical issues, such as fair trade, and how to relate to and understand others' needs.
What jobs can I get?
Competition is fierce for popular business roles, especially against students from economics or related fields. However, practical experience and a solid degree can open doors in the City or top companies through graduate schemes, focusing on areas like recruitment, finance, or marketing.
