Reception and Catering Assistant (Casual) page is loaded## Reception and Catering Assistant (Casual)locations: Parkville, Victoria, Australiatime type: Part timeposted on: Posted Todayjob requisition id: JR3897**Job Title**Reception and Catering Assistant (Casual)**Job Description**An excellent opportunity is available for a**Reception and Catering Assistant (Casual)** to join the **Engagement & Communications Department** at Australia’s pre-eminent biomedical research institute.**About the Position**As part of the Communications and Marketing team, the Reception and Catering Assistant will provide support to both the institute's catering and reception teams on a casual basis.**Selection Criteria** Essential Knowledge and Skills:* Highly developed interpersonal, oral communication and customer service skills.* Excellent written communication skills.* Experience in food and beverage service.* Relevant experience working in a customer service, reception or administration role.* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.* Strong time management skills, ability to prioritise competing workloads to ensure timelines are met.* Proficient in Microsoft Office applications – Outlook, Teams, Word, PowerPoint and Excel.Desirable Knowledge and Skills:* Proficient in Filemaker products.* Experience in telephone PABX operation and Alcatel-Lucent switchboard products.* Experience working with content management systems.* Responsible Service of Alcohol and Food Handling Certificate 1 certificates or the willingness to undertake as part of the role.Personal Qualities:* Demonstrated ability to deal efficiently, professionally and courteously with people at different levels (both internal and external).* Demonstration of initiative; able to rapidly adapt and respond to changes in environment and priorities.* Ability to work within a team environment and independently with minimal supervision.* High level of attention to detail.* An ability to remain calm under pressure.* Ability to work after-hours and at short notice as required.**Terms of Appointment** This position is available in a **casual capacity**.
