We are dedicated to redefining menswear with innovative, trend‑setting designs that offer extreme value. We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Menswear Buyer to join our team and elevate our menswear collection to the next level.
Our Buying team, in partnership with our Designers, Planners and Global Sourcing team are critical to delivering our business strategy and the success of Kmart. As a Buyer working for Kmart, you are instrumental in sourcing the best possible products that bring meaningful moments into our customers lives.
What you'll be doing
- Strategic Direction: Develop and implement a strategic buying plan that aligns with the company’s vision and market trends.
- Product Offering: Curate an elevated and fresh product assortment that resonates with our target audience and sets us apart in the market.
- Trend Analysis: Stay ahead of fashion trends to ensure our menswear collection is always on point and competitive.
- Vendor Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to negotiate the best terms and secure high‑quality products.
- Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels to optimize stock and reduce excess, ensuring a balanced and profitable product range.
- Sales Performance: Analyse sales data to make informed buying decisions and adjust strategies to maximize profitability.
- Developing ranges to establish the appropriate balance of Price, Volume, basics, quality, innovation and trend to deliver strong category growth.
- Ability to recognise and interpret trends and build ranges to ensure consistent brand handwriting.
- Using commercial skills, combined with the ability to analyse customer's needs and research to effectively deliver long term strategic growth.
- Managing the end‑to‑end critical path process across functions to meet instore dates.
- Managing and using strategies to achieve the financial plans including sales, profit and stock turn.

To be successful in this role
We're looking for a driven, efficient and enthusiastic individual who will bring a curious mind‑set and a passion for all things Mens Fashion You love delivering product, customers are always front of mind and building and managing relationships with a variety of key stakeholders is one of your strengths.
As a Buyer for menswear working for Kmart you will have:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a buying role within the fashion industry, preferably in menswear. Bachelor's degree in Fashion Merchandising, Business, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and negotiation skills.
- Excellent understanding of fashion trends and consumer behaviour.
- Ability to develop and execute strategic plans.
- Proficiency in inventory management and sales analysis.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Creative and innovative mindset.
- Detail‑oriented with a strong sense of aesthetics.
- Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
- Passion for fashion and a keen eye for style.
- Commercial focus working in a dynamic fast paced team.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proven success driving category growth and delivering increased profit.
