Overview

This placement offers the chance to contribute to the health and wellbeing of local communities within the TCHHS and to join a dynamic team of paediatricians delivering quality, culturally appropriate specialist medical services to Cape York and the Torres Strait. As a Registrar (Paediatrics) in TCHHS, your expertise, skills and dedication are essential to providing quality care and achieving positive patient outcomes. These communities will help you grow, connect, learn and create life-defining experiences that shape you as a health professional and a person.
Essential qualifications
The ideal applicant will demonstrate:
- Competence and capability in primary rural medical practice (particularly hospital-based practice and/or primary health)
- Ability to function in a multidisciplinary team and to provide leadership within the team
- Experience in education and training of medical staff and/or medical students
- High level of communication skills in clinical practice and corporate functions
- Commitment to improving standards and quality of health care and patient safety within the hospital and community
