Townsville, Australia ClearCompany Full time

Overview

The Role

I'm Jason, CEO and Head of Product at Aphex. We need a Senior Product Designer to help scale our construction coordination platform globally.

You'll work directly with construction experts on complex coordination challenges, owning problems end-to-end without a separate product management layer. Your design thinking will directly shape our product and growth trajectory.

About Aphex

We bridge the gap between what's planned and what actually happens on construction projects.

Construction projects are incredibly complex - 50+ subcontractors with interdependent schedules working in shared physical spaces. Master schedules show the big picture, but teams need detailed tools to execute effectively.

Our platform empowers teams to maintain coordination routines, work from shared information, and catch problems before they derail progress. We complement existing systems and help teams execute effectively.

Since 2019, we've become the dominant solution for major infrastructure projects across the UK, Australia, and New Zealand.

Now we're expanding into Europe, North America and Asia, evolving from planning tool to comprehensive project orchestration platform. We're ready to empower construction teams worldwide.

Join us in transforming an industry that contributes ~10% of global GDP.

How We Do Product Development

At Aphex, everyone genuinely loves what we build. You'll join a team where product, sales, customer success, and leadership are all aligned on empowering construction teams.

We've built our process around leveraging internal construction expertise and insights from teams who interact daily with users.

Our Product team currently includes a Head of UX and designer (UK-based), supported by an 8-person CX team and 18-person engineering team across Asia/Australia.

Why This Role Matters

You'll join during our growth phase as we scale from regional success to global impact.

Success Story: We've built tools that construction teams don't just use—they advocate for them because they deliver better project outcomes.

Challenge: We're scaling from regional leader to global platform, adapting for different construction cultures and creating new capabilities.

Your Impact: You'll help scale proven tools into new markets and workflows. This isn't about finding product-market fit—it's about expanding what works.

Why Now: We've proven our solution, and expansion is underway with new markets launching and capabilities shipping. The foundation is built—now there's open field to run in.

Requirements

You're excited by complex systems and see construction workflows as fascinating design challenges

You lead with curiosity about how things work

You want to own problems end-to-end and influence what to solve, not just how

️You're interested in construction (don't worry—none of us came from construction backgrounds)

You thrive with technical products rather than simple consumer apps

You want to grow as a design leader or exceptional individual contributor

Essential: 4+ years in B2B/enterprise SaaS product design

Bonus: Experience with construction, project management, or technical tools

Benefits

Our Culture & Values

Our culture is built on four core values:

We win together: Building genuine partnerships with teammates and customers, investing in lasting relationships.

We make ourselves proud: Creating beautiful products that solve real problems, always raising the quality bar.

We take ownership: Diving into challenges, delivering on commitments, embracing feedback, and solving root causes.

Build for tomorrow: Making consistent improvements that compound into remarkable results.

As a designer here, you'll join a team that values craft, thinks long-term, and is deeply invested in empowering users.
