Quality Lead
The Opportunity
This is the opportunity to own quality across a whole manufacturing plant.
Beaver Process Equipment is a growing Australian manufacturer making engineered products for the mining industry. You’ll lead QA/QC at our flagship 5500m2 Brisbane plant where we manufacture our Slurryflex, Abrasiguard, and Defender products.
Your mission is simple– ensure nothing leaves the plant unless it meets Beaver’s standards. You’ll embed quality in every step – from product design, process development and materials, all the way through to the final inspection of the finished product. You’ll be trusted to make calls, fix problems, and drive improvements that lift the whole site.
You’ll be attracted to working in an owner-led business that values quality and invests for the long term.
The Role
This is a practical, hands-on QA/QC lead role – embedded as part of the team, not just auditing from the sidelines.
You’ll run the daily quality rhythm, walk the shop floor, collaborate with the office team, inspect work, and coach the team how to build quality into the way we operate. You’ll keep our Quality Management System lean, useful, and production-friendly and partner with our engineering team to make sure we design in quality before the job even hits the shop floor.
What you’ll own:
- QA/QC across every step in the process - from design to final inspection.
- Daily inspection, NCR resolution, and coaching for the team.
- Root cause analysis and corrective actions to drive continuous improvement.
- Supplier and subcontractor quality checks on materials and outsourced work.
- Fit-for-purpose quality management system that is useful and production-friendly.
- Liaison with clients and inspectors to ensure transparency and trust.
- Work with engineering to build quality into the full product lifecycle.
- Add new processes and equipment as we expand the plant.
Who You Are
We’re looking for a confident, practical quality leader who takes full ownership and earns respect on the floor.
You could be one of two profiles:
Step-Up Candidate (5-10 years' experience)
You’re ready to own site quality for the first time. You know manufacturing, you’re detail-driven, and you want to prove yourself by running the system, not following it.
Established Candidate (10-20+ years' experience)
You’ve done this before. You want a high-trust environment where your judgement is valued, your systems are respected, and your legacy is visible.
You must have the following:
- QA/QC experience in manufacturing or heavy industry.
- Experience developing a Quality Management System including practical QA/QC tools.
- Proven ability to run inspections (internal and external) and resolve NCRs with full traceability.
Plus extra points for the following:
- Background in built-to-order engineered product manufacturing.
- Exposure to polyurethane, rubber, or ceramic lined products.
- Fabrication or coatings inspection background (qualified or willing to obtain).
You’ll have these character traits:
- Ownership mindset – takes responsibility, not excuses.
- Practical – keeps things simple and effective.
- Trusted – earns respect from the team, clients, and suppliers.
- Continuous improver – always looking for a better way.
- Calm communicator – says it how it is, with respect.
You must also be a strong fit for our 'No BS' Beaver Core Values: beaverprocess.com.au/careers
What’s In It For You?
This is a high-impact role with real trust and accountability. You’ll be the person who defines what ‘quality’ looks like. Your work will shape how the team and plant operate.
You’ll be attracted to working in an owner-led business that values quality and invests for the long term.
What’s special about this role:
- Full ownership – lead QA/QC end-to-end, across our whole plant, from design to final inspection.
- Trusted authority – make the calls that define our standards, be the trusted technical resource we rely on.
- Build quality in – work with the team, create a culture of ‘building in quality’ at every step.
- Continuous improvement – fix problems, build better systems, make your mark.
Location
- Brisbane, Australia– based full-time at our manufacturing plant in Salisbury.
- Includes time at supplier and subcontractor sites across SEQ.
How to Apply
We’re looking for serious operators who take pride in doing things right. If you believe you’re the right quality leader for this role, show us.
Send your resume and a cover letter (in your words) that addresses:
