Caterpillar Resource Industry is looking for an experienced Human Resources Business Partner to join the team based in our state‑of‑the‑art Brisbane CBD office.

Job Description

The position primarily supports a key segment of our Resources Industries portfolio, customer coverage across AP and EAME territories, working as part of a global diverse team driving our people strategy. This position will report to the Senior Human Resources Manager based in Newcastle, Australia.

Principle duties and responsibilities

As a Human Resources Business Partner, you will perform a variety of HR duties of moderate complexity, allowing you the autonomy to apply demonstrated knowledge of HR policies and procedures.

Responsibilities may include any of the following:

- Provide direction and guidance to employees and leaders in the interpretation and application of employee‑related policies, practices and procedures, as well as laws if applicable.

- Be a trusted advisor to the leadership team within the Resource Industries group.

- Lead local and global projects on people matters.

- Partner with leaders to provide talent development solutions that improve employee engagement, leadership acumen and business results.

- Assist managers in addressing individual and organisational effectiveness issues.

- Partner with our talent attraction team and hiring managers to source top talent.

Qualifications

- University degree or equivalent experience in a related field.

- Prior working experience in a Human Resources function.

- Proficiency in the full MS Office suite.

- Experience with Workday is an advantage.

- Knowledge of labour law and regulations governing the Human Resources function.

- Sound understanding of human resources policies, practices, and procedures.

- Effective communicator with the ability to work across all levels of the organization.

- Excellent customer service orientation.

- Demonstrated ability to analyse situations, make decisions, and take measured risks using available data and insight.

- Proven ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and handle sensitive issues.

- Understanding of total rewards strategies, including unique benefits applicable to mine sites in Australia.

- Experience with Workday, Teams, and SharePoint or other similar people‑management systems.
