DIRECTOR OF NURSING
Position Objective:
To provide high level strategic leadership and operational management within the clinical and aged care services to ensure the delivery of Safe, Timely, Effective, Efficient, Equitable and Patient-centered (STEEEP) healthcare. Responsibilities also include oversight of the clinical education, quality, risk and innovation portfolios to ensure a just culture, systems thinking and a consistent training and development approach is embedded across the organisation. In collaboration with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and other executive colleagues, the Director of Nursing will collaborate with key stakeholders and partner organisations within the Hume Local Health Service Network (HLHSN) to achieve the vision and strategic priorities of both Corryong Health (CH) and the region.
Selection Criteria:
Essential:
1. Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse (RN).
2. Relevant tertiary qualifications in Business, Leadership and Management, Health Service Administration, Public Health (or similar), or working towards.
3. Substantial knowledge of and experience in, public sector health services at a senior management level, including health administration, health service planning, clinical governance, financial management and a broad understanding of community health.
4. Demonstrated leadership experience across a range of clinical and community programs in a rapidly changing environment that requires flexibility and adaptability.
5. Demonstrated ability to drive performance, build a just culture and lead with integrity.
6. High level of interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence and an ability to communicate effectively with consumers, families, carers and other key stakeholder groups.
Desirable:
- Knowledge of health service needs and demands in rural/regional settings.
- Knowledge and experience with the general practice workforce and care provision frameworks.
- Understanding of the aged care sector.
- Membership of relevant professional organisation e.g. Australian College of Nursing (CAN), Australian Institute of Company Director (AICD), Australian College of Health Service Management (ACHSM).
- Post Graduate clinical qualifications that would enable the position to provide enhanced clinical governance leadership.
