The Role:
As the Principal Work Health and Safety (WHS) Manager you will define and continuously improve Harvest Road Group's WHS management system, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and industry "good practice" as well as enabling and overseeing WHS management system implementation across Business Units.

Reporting to the General Manager People and Culture, you will:

1. Keep the Harvest Road Group (HRG) Board and executive team abreast of current and future changes in our WHS legal environment and potential implications.
2. Engage the HRG Board and executive team to define and continuously improve the WHS management system, preparing and communicating WHS policy, standards, procedures and hazard practice documentation that reflects and anticipates legal and industry requirements.
3. Enable the implementation of the WHS management system across Business Units through providing expert advice and guidance to senior management and WHS Business Partners, as well as driving the development and implementation of enabling WHS systems, tools and templates with support from Technology.
4. Support the HRG Board and executive to oversee WHS management system implementation across Business Units by facilitating audits and preparing regular reporting on WHS performance and compliance.
5. Foster collaboration and knowledge sharing on WHS-related matters across HRG, through formal and informal forums.
6. Implement the WHS management system across corporate functions, including developing WHS improvement plans, facilitating incident and injury management, conducting risk assessments and implementing mitigation controls, building WHS competency and fostering a positive WHS culture.

This dynamic role requires a mix of remote work and on-the-ground collaboration, as well as travel to diverse locations across WA.

About You:

1. Bachelor level degree in Work Health and Safety or related field.
2. Senior leadership experience, including providing strategic WHS-related advice to executive and Board level stakeholders.
3. Deep WHS domain experience, in a variety of WHS-related roles, up to date knowledge of relevant legislation and standards and understanding of the latest in WHS technologies.
4. Skilled communicator, with strong presentation and stakeholder management skills.
5. Analytical, adept at tracking WHS performance, analysing trends and utilising data to support decision making.
6. Problem solver, able to quickly diagnose the problem and identify effective solutions.
7. Flexible and adaptive in approach, open to learning and different ways of doing things.
8. Demonstrated personal alignment to HRG's values.
