About the opportunityWerribee Mercy Hospital is an expanding general hospital on the outskirts of Melbourne situated close to all its’ thriving amenities and attractions. We are similarly close to the regional city of Geelong and the surrounding areas of the Bellarine Peninsula, Surf Coast and Great Ocean Road. The Anaesthetic department is growing and developing with the broader hospital and is accredited for 52 weeks of training with ANZCA. We receive accredited trainees from the NorthWestern rotation of the Victoria Anaesthetic Training Scheme and we are also accredited for Provisional Fellowship with ANZCA. Our department supports a busy elective and emergency surgical and perioperative service as well as obstetric and mental health units. We are seeking Specialist Anaesthetists to provide quality client-focused care to patients, their family and carers, using a holistic approach. Specialists within the Anaesthetic department will be part of a multi-disciplinary team which requires you to provide a highly responsive and flexible service to consumers and carers. Your role will involve collaborating with medical teams, contributing to treatment planning, and delivering clinical guidance to optimise patient care and outcomes within your area of expertise. We are seeking Specialists with a keen interest and proven background in Medical Education, Quality Assurance/Improvement and/or Clinical Research. In addition to providing training and education to junior medical staff, opportunities exist to make significant contributions to service development. What you’ll bring To be eligible for consideration candidates should: ● Be registered or registrable with AHPRA as a Specialist Anaesthetist ● Have FANZCA or equivalent ●Background in Medical Education, QA/QI &/or clinical research You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining: ● A current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check. ● Proof of current influenza vaccination and other vaccination status consistent with public health orders.
