We are seeking a versatile and enthusiastic individual to join our team in a dual role as Café Attendant / Food Service Assistant. In this position, you will support both the café and dining services within our aged care residence, helping create enjoyable dining and café experiences for residents, staff, and visitors.

Your key responsibilities

- Customer Service: Provide friendly and attentive service to residents, staff, and visitors in the café and dining areas. Greet customers, take orders, and interact with residents in a caring and professional manner.
- Food and Beverage Preparation: Prepare and serve a variety of beverages such as coffee, tea, and specialty drinks, as well as light meals and snacks in the café. Assist with meal preparation in the kitchen, including chopping, portioning, and assembling simple dishes under supervision.
- Meal Service: Serve meals to residents in the dining room, ensuring dietary requirements and preferences are met. Set up tables and ensure the dining area is welcoming and comfortable.
- Cash Handling: Handle café transactions accurately and securely, ensuring professionalism at all times.
- Stock Management: Monitor inventory of food, beverages, and supplies for both café and dining areas. Restock as required and inform supervisors of low stock.
- Cleaning and Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness of the café, dining areas, and kitchen. Wash dishes, utensils, and equipment, and ensure all areas meet health, hygiene, and safety standards.

Skills & Experience

- Food Handlers Certificate.
- Adaptable, passionate and willingness to learn.
- Collaborative and skilled at teamwork.
- Friendly and effective communication abilities.
- Barista experience is highly desirable
