In the Hatchery Technician role you will experience all the duties of a Hatchery Technician including, feeding, grading/counting or measuring fish, mortality removal, site security, maintenance, clean up, reporting, record keeping, document management, monitoring fish behaviour, appearance and health while ensuring safety and biosecurity measures are being followed.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The ideal candidate would be safety oriented and forward-thinking with a passion for the industry. They would have:

- Related post-secondary education and/or experience within the industry is considered an asset
- Respect for the need for safe working practices and animal welfare
- Well-developed English verbal and written communication
- A positive attitude, willingness to learn and participate in training opportunities
- Good computer skills and ability to enter/review data
- Physical capability to lift and handle up to 25kg of material complete repetitive physical tasks
- A positive attitude and desire to work in a team oriented environment
- Ability to work safely and effectively indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Willingness to work flexibly to meet the demands of the job as needed
- Legal eligibility to work in Canada, must have a current valid open work permit
