About Cleaning Services The NSW Government’s reforms to public sector cleaning services entail the NSW Department of Education taking over management of the state’s Whole-of-Government cleaning contracts from January 1, 2026. A team has been established to deliver an enhanced Whole-of-Government cleaning contract for alignment and delivery of all program streams, including Governance, ITD, Recruitment and Risk Management. About the role This is an exciting opportunity that offers the chance to make a real impact in keeping NSW schools clean, safe, and ready for learning. As a Cleaning Services Senior Officer, you will coordinate and monitor contracted cleaning services, manage scheduling, and keep performance data and records accurate and up to date. In this role, you will make day‑to‑day decisions on program delivery in line with policies and procedures, consulting with your manager on complex or contentious matters. You will also work closely with schools and contractors to resolve service issues, maintain high standards, support contractor onboarding, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance cleaning operations and service delivery.
