Where the team fits in

The Software Engineer role sits within the Ignite Web Platform team. Ignite is our strategic customer platform and is positioned to be the tool of choice for all customers which utilises REA to support their business.

Within the Ignite Tribe we operate under a federated model supporting all our lines of business (LOB) to enable and deliver upon our key customer strategy. Ignite is available to our customers across both web and app which is underpinned by a backend that integrates with many core systems across our business.

What the role is all about

- Work in a tight-knit squad with engineers, a BA, QA, product designer and product manager to deliver outcomes for Ignite and its customers.
- Design, implement, test and deploy software across the full stack (frontend + backend).
- Shape the evolution of the platform as we reimagine architecture and improve how federated teams use it.
- Provide technical guidance and share learnings with teams across the business.
- Collaborate with product to understand priorities, explore technical options, and report on progress.

Who we’re looking for

- Experience in TypeScript, React, GraphQL, Node.js and AWS
- Solid understanding of modern web technologies and software development environments.
- Experience building scalable, high-performance products.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with engineers, designers, product managers, analysts and QA.
- Solutions-focused mindset with a passion for problem solving.
- Tertiary qualification in Computer Science or similar (highly desirable).
- A proactive team player who enjoys experimentation, iteration and data-driven decision making.
- Committed to continuous learning, mentoring and improving how we work.
- Excited to deliver great outcomes — and have some fun along the way.
