Test Engineers – Associate to Senior (and Test Managers)

Job Description:
Our federal government client seeks a range of Test Engineers – from junior to senior and Test Managers – to support the department’s testing strategies in Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra or Melbourne. The role will involve planning, monitoring and executing all testing activities across platforms and environments.
Responsibilities:
- Create and execute complex test cases on appropriate platforms using in‑depth technical analysis.
- Create complex test data within external software vendor environments.
- Review test cases from team members to ensure quality.
- Develop and review test plans, cases, task cards, and supporting data.
- Apply in‑depth technical analysis when designing and executing test cases.
- Assist with defining requirements for test environments.
- Record and analyse test results; report unexpected outcomes.
- Contribute to team improvement initiatives, process changes, and test automation.
- Identify, manage and document all defects and programming errors.
- Conduct testing to ensure the ICT Service functions as per requirements.
- Monitor and manage time and effort; escalates issues as needed.
- Develop staff capability through coaching, mentoring and training.
- Collaborate with stakeholders; resolve or escalates issues as required.
- Perform cost analysis activities.
Requirements:
- Investigate and respond to identified issues and escalates them as needed.
- Clarify expectations and identify concerns.
- Contribute towards team work plans.
- Analyse information and make recommendations based on evidence.
- Research and make sound decisions based on subject‑matter knowledge and judgement.
- Prioritise competing tasks and work collaboratively to see tasks through to completion.
- Adapt to a changing environment and assist others to adapt.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Commerce or Economics.
- Experience supporting, executing, leading and driving testing projects and programmes.
- Experience across both manual and automation testing (preferred tools: Selenium, TOSCA, Appium).
Please note: To be eligible for this role you must be an Australian Citizen and hold or be eligible to hold a minimum baseline security clearance. Higher clearances may be required for certain roles.
