Endoscopy Receptionist

An exciting opportunity has arisen for the position of Endoscopy Receptionist. The receptionist is a key role in Endoscopy for welcoming patients, checking them in for their procedures, preparing materials for our booking coordinators, and performing some simple data work in our healthcare records software.

Endoscopy is a busy service with many patients visiting us each day. We enjoy having a friendly staff team with a positive atmosphere, supporting our patients together.

Main duties of the job

- You will be friendly, approachable, and collaborative, both towards patients and colleagues.

- You must be flexible and independent to complete the range of tasks over a day without close supervision.

- You must be detail-oriented and be willing to be calm under pressure when many patients are coming for check‑in.

- We cannot offer a full‑time permanent contract to those on a Student visa unless they have:

- applied for a Graduate visa;

- or successfully completed their course and applied for a Graduate visa before the anticipated start date of employment;

- or the Trust has agreed to sponsor them as a Skilled Worker and they will complete their studies within 3 months of the anticipated start date of employment.

Person Specification

Qualifications

- Numerate and literate

- Educated to GCSE level or equivalent

Experience

- Planning and organising straightforward tasks

- Working within agreed guidelines to set timescales

- Basic administrative experience

- Experience of customer service or dealing with the public

- Previous experience of working in the NHS

- Experience of call handling

Knowledge

- Understanding of confidentiality

- Basic knowledge of the Trust

Skills

- Ability to work as part of a team and build working relationships

- Good communication skills including telephone, email, face to face

- Ability to follow processes and procedures

- Ability to manage time working to schedule and timescales

- Basic IT skills – ability to use Microsoft Office Outlook
